As with any Business
Buy at a good price (wholesalers or manufacturers) and Sell at a good price.
Dropshippers are not the best idea, as your Business and ebay reputation are in their hands (how fast and how well they ship)
Always better to have some stock to hand, and usually best to sell something/s that you have a knowledge or passion for.
Selling on ebay has changed in the last few years, it is extremelly difficult to maintain ebay Selling standards (and thereby affects your selling capabilities)
Start small with household items to understand the system, then decide what to sell and go from there

You can start an ebay business with less than $100. You can make $0 – $100,000+ depending on how much work you put into it and the types of items you sell.

I would steer clear of drop shipping because it drastically cuts into your profits and a lot of people use the same ones… so you’re competition will be even greater and you’ll have to lower your prices to stay afloat. Try to buy direct from the manufacturer.

You can start off by reading a lot of book about selling on ebay. That will give you the knowledge and confidence to proceed.

You need an Ebay book! Everything you want to know. They have selling on ebay for dummies, Powersellers Secrets, etc… I got them at the library but you could also just park yourself in a book store for a while.
Also consider spying on an ebay drop off store. They are already doing what you want to do – so just copy it.

Personally I’d charge a very small flat rate and then whatever fees are involved in selling/shipping/ etc.. but you need to find out how much time you’ll be spending…. A great book that will really get you started right is (stupid name I know) The Cash Machine by Loral Langemeier.

Ebay dont even have customer service by phone…that right there should be a signal to leave Ebay in the dust! They handle everything by online chat, and that is just so unprofessional for a huge popular business like Ebay. Amazon seem more professional, and at least they not afraid to speak to their customers over the phone. Highly recommand Amazon!! Not to mention how preposterous Paypal policy is, and they should NOT have the right to hold funds, that sellers earned and deserve!

same here but my story is a bit different. the terms of my return policy stated that buyer had 3 days from receipt of the item to notify me about any defects or damages on the item. now the buyer waits almost 2 months before claiming that the item came damaged. he asked for a refund which i denied due to the fact that over a 2 month period i don’t know what you have done to the item to alter it and then claim that it arrived that way.well least to say he filed a claim through paypal

the buyer filed a claim through paypal and even though i provided ample evidence to support my claim(proof and date of receipt, prove of the time buyer contacted me to, return policy, the actual listing that stated that buyer had 3 days to notify me about anything or if the product didn’t meet their satisfaction, etc.) i highly doubt PayPal even read any of the evidence i provided because they issued the buyer the refund not only putting me in the red but i never received my item back.

so essentially i lost the money and the item and had to pay paypal back the overage in my account. like stated time and time again and in this video. PayPal and eBay offers absolutely no protection for sellers. they only offer the illusion of such protection. where’s the fucking humanity? where’s is their conscious? i don’t honestly understand how these ceo’s can honestly feel good about what the fuck is going on with their company. it’s just plain immoral and unfair.

There are bad buyers out there who will blackmail the seller to get the item for nothing because they know that they hold the hatchet called negative feedback. im a web designer and rent eshops.
If anyone has a good range of products (new only), perhaps ebay sellers, and you want to have your won website but cant afford it, i might be able to help.
I will just charge AFTER it starts making money. Then you dont pay any ebay fees, just a monthly rental to me. Im looking for ink cartridges, and other stuff, but you must already be selling on ebay or somewhere, so we can understand each other. I will want money, but not like ebay.

This site lists all the ‘hot categories’ of items that are currently being sold.

2. http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/hotitems.pdf

This is a PDF file/list of all their hot selling items; Review it and you should be able to determine what product(s) are hot, that you can sell, as well as see what products are ‘cold’ and are not sellling as much…thus knowing what to stay away from.
